Safety is always our top priority

At Raising Stars Preschool℠, your child’s safety is always our top priority. Our space is thoughtfully designed with multiple safety features, and our educators follow clear policies and procedures to provide a secure, nurturing, and supportive environment for every child.

We encourage all families to review the Parent Handbook for detailed information on our health, hygiene, and safety practices. By staying informed and working together, we can ensure that every child enjoys a safe, happy, and thriving experience at preschool.

Thank you for partnering with us to maintain a safe and caring community for all children.

Behaviour Correction Plan

At Raising Stars Preschool℠, we do not use the word “discipline.” Instead, we teach children that their actions have consequences. We support self-esteem, problem-solving, positive self-talk, and healthy relationships with peers and educators.

Positive Role Modeling:
Staff model appropriate behaviour and language, showing children how to interact and use materials respectfully.

Responding to Challenging Behaviour:
When challenges arise, staff may:

  • Ignore minor behaviours if safe
  • Redirect to another activity
  • Encourage deep breathing to self-regulate
  • Offer a sensory or quiet break

Breaks are un-timed, supervised, and not “time outs.”

Additional Support:
If challenges persist, families may be referred to local resources such as NONA or the Friendship Centre.

Last Resort:
In rare cases where behaviour poses a risk, families may be asked in writing to consider a more suitable centre. We aim to work with families to support each child’s growth and success.
