Welcome to Raising Stars Preschool®!

Raising Stars Preschool warmly welcomes children aged 30 months to 5 years*. We are a fully inclusive facility that embraces children from all religious backgrounds, family histories, abilities, and any other unique needs or barriers.

Housed in a charming converted home, our preschool offers a cozy, nurturing environment, a true home away from home where your child will feel safe, comfortable, and inspired to learn.

Rooted in the Reggio Emilia philosophy, Hygge in Early Years, The Curiosity Approach, and the BC Early Learning Framework, our curriculum is not 'delivered'—it is negotiated. We view children as capable protagonists of their own learning, moving through projects (long- or short-term) that emerge from their unique inquiries, curiosities, and wonderings.

We offer flexible Early Childhood Education options to meet your family’s unique needs. Whether you choose part-day or full-day care, all children participate fully in our Preschool program—because every child deserves a rich early learning experience!

 

Preschool-Only Program: Set pick-up time at 12:30 pm

Preschool + Childcare Program: Flexible pick-up times between 12:30 pm and 6:00 pm

Small Class Sizes and Low Ratios

At Raising Stars Preschool®, we know children learn and grow best in small, supportive environments.

While we have a total of three classes across our program, our daily group sizes are intentionally kept small, with just 10 children in our preschool groups and 8 in childcare. This ensures a calm, nurturing space where educators can truly notice each child, follow their unique interests, and create meaningful learning opportunities.

Because we believe children shouldn't get lost in a crowd, we are committed to maintaining an average teacher-to-child ratio of 1:5 during preschool hours and 1:6 during childcare hours. These low average ratios allow for sustained shared thinking and deep, co-constructed research between our educators and children.

Children also remain with the same class and educators throughout the year, building consistency, trust, and strong relationships. This continuity helps create a true sense of community, where children feel secure to explore, develop routines, and form lasting friendships.

Children who are 30 months old must turn 3 on or before December 31st of their enrollment year. Children cannot be older than 5 and must not be enrolled in Grade 1 at the time of enrollment (though they may turn 6 during their graduation year with us).
